MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE / OPENER TROUBLESHOOTING

Garage door opener
troubleshooting basics

An opener that stops working can have several causes. A few low-risk observations can help explain the symptoms; never bypass safety sensors or work around a moving door.

SAFE FIRST OBSERVATIONS 01 / 03

Notice what
happens when
you try it.

If nothing happens: check whether the wall control has power and whether the remote battery may be depleted. Keep the door in view and clear of people and objects.

If the opener runs but the door does not move: stop repeated attempts. Do not pull emergency release while the door is open or unsupported; a heavy or unbalanced door can move unexpectedly.

If the door reverses or lights flash: note where it reverses and whether a sensor lens looks obstructed. Do not bypass, disconnect, or defeat a safety sensor.

Do not adjust springs, cables, or force settings. Describe the opener brand (if visible), control used, lights or sounds, and door position when you call or text.
